Scotland is proud to host the 19th International Epidemiology Association (IEA) World Congress of Epidemiology in its capital city, Edinburgh.
The Congress theme is reflected in the title “Changing Populations, Changing Diseases: Epidemiology for Tomorrow’s World.” Within this future orientated theme the conference will focus on research across the many disciplines contributing to our science and practice. In addition to grappling with today's problems across the globe, the conference will forecast what awaits us in the future including health effects of environmental and demographic change, and theoretical, conceptual and technical developments in epidemiology. The congress partners who are hosting the conference include the four academic departments leading epidemiology and public health in Scotland (Universities of Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow) and NHS Health Scotland. In addition to the science we will also have a stimulating social programme.
The congress is taking place the week before the International (arts and cultural) Festival and during the Fringe festival – so why not come with your family and friends? For further information please visit the conference website: www.epidemiology2011.com.
